AWISA - Visitor Information

Admission is free. AWISA 2016 is a trade-only exhibition. All visitors are asked to register. Visitors can register at the counters in the foyer prior to admission, but is it preferred that they pre-register.

Pre-registrations can only be done through this website. Mail, fax and phone pre-registrations are not available. Visitor name badges will not be mailed.

Visitors who have pre-registered should print off their bar-coded confirmation email and bring it to be scanned at the e-badge stations in the foyer. A name badge will be printed at the station for express entry to the show.

AWISA 2016 is a workplace with woodworking machinery on display and in operation.

In the interest of safety, children over 6 months of age and under 15 years of age will not be admitted to the exhibition. AWISA prefers that children are not even brought to the venue. However, a professionally run children’s hospitality suite is provided, with activities and entertainment to suit the various age groups being looked after. Space is available on a first-come first-served basis. Bookings are not accepted. By registering to visit, show visitors accept that the final decision about entry of children who appear to be under age will be made by the show managers.

Also in the interest of safety, alcohol is only available from 5.00p.m. to 6.00p.m. on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The information visitors provide when registering will be used to enable access to the event. When visitors allow exhibitors to electronically read their access cards they are giving exhibitors all the information provided at registration. After the exhibition, exhibitors are provided with information on all visitors, and AWISA Ltd uses the information to promote the next exhibition, to mail AWISA’s quarterly trade magazine and to email AWISA’s eNewsletter. Visitors should contact the organisers in writing by 15 July 2016 if they do not want their information included in the list provided to all exhibitors. The information is not disclosed to any other parties.

There are over 50 hotels within two kilometres of the venue - in the Southbank and South Wharf area immediately adjacent to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, and in the Melbourne CBD just across the river. Special rates have been negotiated at a number of these hotels. Visitors are recommended to book early as this will give them a greater choice of room and hotel.

The Lido Group has been appointed to handle visitors’ accommodation. AWISA visitors should book through the Lido website. If necessary, Lido can be contacted on 1800 817 339. Click here.

AWISA visitors are asked to make their own air travel bookings direct with airlines or through their travel agents.
